Preparing for exporting

Preparation is essential for exporting successfully.

-Self-diagnosis and asking the right questions
-Knowing your business' internal capacity to take on the foreign market. 

Identifying your strong and weak points: 

  • Are we capable of handling a large order fast and efficiently?
  • What our are restrictions? 
  • What are our human and financial resources? 
  • How is our production organised? 


Finding out about the market 

  • Collect as much information as possible on the country by means of studies, books, seminars, etc. 
  • Find out what language is used for business, shipping methods, customs formalities, the best time for prospecting, etc.


Adapting your products 

  • Identify the product's assets to best adapt it to the foreign market.
  • Don't overlook the country's cultural factors to avoid failure with your product.
  • pond to consumer tastes
  • Adapt products technically and/or commercially to the country's requirements and standards.
  • Set product prices in keeping with the market in question.
