EQUAL RARETE programme

The European EQUAL RARETE programme (Résurgence, Artisanat, Reprise d’Entreprise, Territoire, Emploi - Crafts Industry Resurgence and Business Recovery, Territory and Employment) aims to favour access to employment, mobility for young people and exchange between European Arts and Crafts professionals with 2 specific sections: one regional and the other transnational.
The regional programme lasts two years: from 1/1/2006 to 31/12/2007.

It corresponds to the F theme (company and employee adaptation) of the European EQUAL scheme. It targets:

- adults in retraining,
- professionals (notably those wanting to start-up or take-over a business as well as those wanting to diversify their skills),
- young people in difficulty,
- women,
- women looking for a professional project, a job or training.

Ile de France operations in the context of the RARETE programme
The programme is set up at regional level by APCM, ANPE, INFA CREAR, SEMA and UNAMA, in association with Ile de France Arts and Crafts players (professionals, French Chambers of Trade and Crafts, Arts and Crafts centres, Regional Nature Parks).

New tools have been implemented in the context of this programme:

  • the on-line directory of Arts and Crafts businesses and a presentation of rare skills practised in Paris and Ile de France on metiersrares.com

  • the professional degree program: "Entrepreneurship, starting and taking over businesses in the Arts and Crafts sector" Information on course content and application forms are available on the SEMA website

  • Specific information on female creation and transmission of know-how in the Arts and Crafts, available on the SEMA  <ebsite(Download file "seminar: Women and transmission of know-how".doc)

  • an employment scheme in the Arts and Crafts sector, with advisors specifically dedicated to the Arts and Crafts based in one employment agency in each Ile de France département (with 2 in Paris): (link to list of ALE), and a "jobs database" listing job offers and allowing organisations to submit job offers on the ANPE and SEMA websites
